Automated Processing Instrument

Mariposa’s Automated Processing Instrument (API) is a programmable, computer controlled, multi-channel, micro-fluidic system that provides highly specific control of osmolality, temperature, and cycle time. This system and its associated devices are uniquely designed to provide repeatable results regardless of operator and location variables

Our API uses multiple high precision stepper motors to drive the syringes that hold the cryoprotectant solutions and incorporates a solid state heater to maintain accurate temperature control of the mixed solutions throughout processing.

The API independently delivers each solution to a common manifold, where they are mixed and delivered to the straw(s). It can process multiple straws at the same time, allowing for accurate processing of a single embryo, a series of single embryos, or multiple embryos per straw. The API’s ability to mix multiple solutions in the manifold (prior to delivery to each straw) reduces osmotic shock and stress on the embryo(s).
